Howard maintains a national practice, handling business, investment and securities disputes and controversies. He focuses on litigation, regulatory defense, and internal investigations. Howard has represented large and small businesses, as well as individuals.
Howard’s background includes governmental, in-house and large law firm experience. Before joining the firm, he was General Counsel for a securities broker-dealer and investment advisor. Prior to that, Howard was a litigator with DLA Piper US LLP. He began his legal career with the Division of Enforcement of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Active in the legal community, Howard has served as Co-Chair of the Association of Securities and Exchange Commission Alumni (Midwest), as Legislative Liaison for the Chicago Bar Association’s Securities Law Committee, and as a board member of the Decalogue Society of Lawyers.
Howard earned a B.S. with high honors from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and a J.D. with honors from the IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law. He is licensed to practice in Illinois and Florida, and is a recipient of the “Rising Stars” designation from Illinois Super Lawyers.
